There are two overpasses (bridges over train tracks) at the cherry blossom festival site, and many people come to take photos of the cherry blossoms and trains (areas circled on the map at the top).

However, there are no sidewalks where you can take photos of the cherry blossoms and trains on the bridge, so you have to take photos on the road. Until now, some photographers have set up tripods or stepladders on the road, and crowds of photographers have formed on the road, obstructing traffic and causing congestion, and increasing the risk of collisions and traffic accidents.

The Cherry Blossom Festival Organizing Committee, in response to guidance from the local police station, has been encouraging people to refrain from taking photos every year through traffic control officers and signs, but as the situation has not improved, it has decided to install privacy screens from 2023.

Many people look forward to the view from this location, and this was a difficult decision for the organizing committee, as it goes against the purpose of the Cherry Blossom Festival, which is for visitors to enjoy Miura's cherry blossoms. However, we have taken this measure, as we believe that the safety of visitors and drivers must take priority above all else. We ask that you enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival by taking photos safely, such as by using the photo spots mentioned above.
